Nearish is a party game app that respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

Data We Collect

Player Names

• Stored locally on your device only
• Used to display in-game during multiplayer sessions
• Not transmitted to any servers for storage

Device Identifier

• A random UUID generated on first launch
• Stored locally on your device
• Used only for multiplayer session management (reconnecting to games)
• Not linked to your identity or used for tracking

Multiplayer Game Data

• Room codes and game state are transmitted via WebSocket connections
• Data exists only during active game sessions
• No game data is permanently stored on our servers

Data We Do NOT Collect

• Personal information (email, phone, address)
• Location data
• Usage analytics or behavioral tracking
• Advertising identifiers
• Contacts or other device data

Third-Party Services

PartyKit (Cloudflare)

Powers real-time multiplayer functionality. Processes game data during active sessions only.

Expo/EAS Updates

Delivers app updates. May collect anonymous crash reports and update metrics.

Data Storage & Deletion

All user preferences (theme, player name) are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This data never leaves your device except for temporary multiplayer session data.

You can delete all locally stored data by uninstalling the app. Multiplayer session data is automatically deleted when the game session ends.

Children's Privacy

Nearish does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is designed for party gameplay and does not require account creation or personal data submission.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above.
